I don't know if any of you will see this as it is 2 years since your mother died. My name is Diane Prior and Jean Travers was my godmother. She was also godmother to my twin sister, Deborah Prior. I realize that none of you might know this. She was wonderful friends with my mother, Ruth Meskill Prior when they were young. She was my mother's maid of honor at her wedding. I don't remember ever meeting your mom but my mother spoke of her often when we were small. I only saw this obituary because I saw a copy of my baptismal certificate and wondered about Jean. So of course, I did a google search and found her.
My mother, Ruth Prior, worked for the State of CT for many years and then retired to Naples, FL over 30 years ago. This past May I moved her back to Connecticut and she is now living in Shelton in a beautiful senior community. She is 93 years old and happy to be back in CT and near her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. When I found your mother's obituary I called my mother and let her know. I also sent her a link so that she can read the wonderful tribute to your mom. Please accept my sincere condolences.
