Dearest Meskill Family,
Your mom was a true treasure and a such a good friend to my mom. After my mom passed, Mary was kind enough to check in on us frequently and before I left Delray to move back to Connecticut, we had a memorable lunch. Your mom exuded wit, kindness, and a love of family in every word and gesture. I treasure the memories of St. Patrick's Day gatherings with the old crowd, holidays, teas and just conversations around the dinner table. Your parents were remarkable people and so very proud of you all. I hope you carry this love and pride with you every day and may it serve as comfort during this difficult time.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
All our love,
Joan, Avery and Brady McGettigan

As a child visiting her home in New Britain, I remember Mrs Meskill always with a smile on her face and a kind remark. She was warm and welcoming, classy and sophisticated. Her home was always full of life. My sincere condolences to Maureen and the entire family.

The definition of a great lady is Mrs. Mary Meskill. My Mother Constance Collins Cain and all of our family send our deepest prayers and thoughts. Mary and Constance kept up a deep and enduring friendship that began in the political days of the early 1960's. They held tight to the bond with weekly phone calls and get togethers, including lunches, which now sadly ends, except in warm and loving memories. We are all very sad as this great lady leaves our lives. I too had many treats of seeing the two great friends interact over lunches and chats. What wonderful memories for me, Betty Collins. The deepest thoughts and prays for the family is sent by Constance.
. Peace
Constance Collins Cain, Betty Collins and all of my siblings, Jim, Tricia and Mary.

On behalf of my mother, Constance Collins (Cain), whose wonderful relationship with Mary went back to their days as candidate's wives in the 1964 election, may I express our condolences to the entire Meskill family. Governor and Mary Meskill played an enormous and positive role in the lives of our parents and we have all carried a deep and lasting gratitude for their kindnesses and friendships with our Mom and Dad. In recent times, Mom's lunches with Mary have been the highlight of her final years. Mary and Tom were so kind to Mom after our Dad died. We can never thank her enough.

It is with great sadness we learned of Mary's passing. She was truly a wonderful lady, always smiling and always kind word. She always remembered me and my family when she would return to St. Paul Church and we would catch up on the news within the families. She will be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with family. She was such a wonderful, kind, and thoughtful person. The memory of a special T-shirt bought on a visit to Florida will always be with me. (Eileen remembers.) Rest in Peace, Mrs. Meskill. ~Pam and Eric Jeroszko
