Obituary of Stanley J. Kurasienski

Stanley J. Kurasienski, 88, of Newington, died Sunday (Feb 24, 2019) after a brief illness in Celebration, Florida while on vacation with his son and daughter in law. Born in New Britain Nov 15, 1930, the son of the late Walter and Amelia Kurasienski where he resided until moving to Newington in 1972. He is a veteran of the Korean War serving in Germany. He worked for Stanley Works for 40 years, upon retirement he then worked for Papas Dodge picking up and delivering cars. He was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman. During his final years he loved to travel with his wife and family.

Stanley was predeceased by his loving wife Therese, and 2 brothers John and Joseph. He is survived by his loving sister Helen Papa of Farmington, a son Michael Kurasinski and his wife Elaine, a daughter Victoria Kurasinski and 2 grandchildren Bethany Mann and her husband Dylan, of Monson, MA, and Lori Monikowski and her husband John, of Terryville, CT and 1 great grandchild, who always brought a sparkle to his eye. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He will truly be missed by everyone but with comfort he will be with all who have passed before him.

Funeral services will be held Friday (March 8) starting at 9am from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Holy Apostles Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church) 655 East  Street New Britain. Military Honors will follow the Mass at the church. Burial will be privately held in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call to the funeral home Thursday (March 7) from 5-7PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Apostles Parish 655 East St. New Britain CT 06051 or to St. Lucian’s Residence 532 Burritt St. New Britain CT 06051.
