Obituary of Theresa R. Glownia

Theresa Rose (Gagliardi) Glownia of Berlin, passed away on Tuesday May 1, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 4^th, 1929, she was the daughter of late Camillo and Mary (Nesta) Gagliardi, Theresa was born and raised in New Britain. In her early years she was employed by Fafnir Bearing and New Britain Machine. She then became a stay at home mom, raising her three children. Later in her career she was employed at Northeast Utilities as a Claims Adjustor.  Family was most important to Theresa, and she was happiest with a house full of people sharing good food, laughs and love.

Theresa is survived by her three children, Richard and his wife Diana Glownia of Bristol, her son Robert Glownia with whom she made her home, and her daughter Virginia and her husband Fred Larese. She is also survived by her four loving grandchildren, Kimberly Saucier (Kevin), Justin Glownia, Heather and Brittany Larese. In addition, left to mourn her lose is her brother Alfred Gagliardi of Berlin and her sister in law Terry Gagliardi of Berlin. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends, especially Marjorie Emanuel, her care taker for the past two years, who was like family to Theresa. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Palma Bourquin, Beatrice Lanza Christy, Florence Garner, her brother Felix Gagliardi and her longtime friend George Peters.

Funeral services will be held Friday (May 4, 2018) 9:00 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Church 195 So. Main St. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Church. The family would like to give special thanks to the nursing staff of C – 5 at the Hospital of Central CT and Jerome Home for their care.
