Obituary of Bernice Anna Sheridan
Bernice Anna Sheridan, passed away Saturday (Jan. 13, 2018) after a long illness at the age of 98. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late James J. and Grace (Stingle) Sheridan, she was a lifelong resident. She graduated from local schools, as well as Moody’s Secretarial School. She was active in drama and was a member of “The Little Theatre Guild” in which she starred with Charlie Welch, who went onto Broadway and Television. She was the author of a play and many verses. After retiring from North and Judd Mfg. Co., she volunteered daily at St. Mary’s Church, tending to the candles and Altar, as well as leading the Recitation of the Rosary.
She is survived by her cousins Fred and Shirley Stingle of Simsbury and several close friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Edward Sheridan.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday (Jan. 17, 2018) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00AM until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary Church 544 Main St. New Britain. Bernice’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Grandview Health Care for their kind and attentive care toward Bernice. They would also like to thank Fr. Isreal, of St. Mary Church, for his spiritual care.
