Obituary of Rose M. Rund

Rose M. (Arena) Rund, 92, of New Britain passed away Sunday (Nov. 20, 2016) at an area convalescent home. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Letizia (Primerano) Arena, she was a lifelong resident. She was the wife of the late William J. Rund, Sr. Early in her career, Rose was employed at the Stanley Works. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, where she assisted with serving lunches. She enjoyed Line Dancing at the New Britain Senior Center and taking walks with her neighbors. But most importantly, her priority was spending time with her family. Mrs. Rund is survived by two daughters, Dale R. Gibeau and her husband, Paul, of New Britain, Doreen M. Sycz of New Britain, her son, William J. Rund, Jr., of Farmington; three grandchildren, Nicole Gibeau, Michael Gibeau and Shelley and her husband, Jason Lavigne; three great grandchildren, Amber, Dylan and Nicholas, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 6 sisters and 3 brothers. Funeral services will be held Saturday (Nov. 26, 2016) 9:00 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s 195 So. Main St. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
