JoAnn M. (Bylek) Majewski, 61 of New Britain, died Saturday (Nov. 19, 2016) surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late John and Edna (LaFlamme) Bylek, she was raised in Berlin and later returned to New Britain where she made her home and raised her family. She was the beloved wife of 32 years to Daniel Majewski. During her career, JoAnn was employed by the Town Line Answering Service for 30 years and was also an active member of the Women’s Auxiliary of Berlin. JoAnn was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed spending her summer weekends out on her boat fishing, and camping in Mystic with her husband and their 2 dogs, Charlie and Tucker.
In addition to her husband, JoAnn is survived by her daughter Jennifer and her husband Dwight DiMartino of Southington, two sons Michael and his wife Marlen Yeske of East Berlin, Clifford Yeske and his partner Diana Lukasik of New Britain, and her 8 grandchildren, whom she adored with all her heart. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers, Shelly Bylek and Jack Mitchell, Raymond and his wife Maria Bylek, Richard Bylek and Deb Grant, John and his wife Karen Bylek, Charlotte and her husband Alan Potanka, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Erik Yeske and her sister Amy Nelson. JoAnn was loved by all who knew her and will be missed dearly.
Calling hours will be Monday (Nov. 28, 2016) from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial will be private in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Smilow Cancer Hospital c/o St. Francis Hospital 114 Woodland St. Hartford, CT 06105.
