Dear Mom, Today, 10/26/12, was the last time that I saw you alive. I miss you and will always laugh when I remember the time that we shared on October 20, 2012 at the hospital. I just shared our story the other day and laughed so much. You were sooooo cute! I know how much you loved us and wanted us to be happy. I know that you are very happy where you are, and it gives me peace. Please look out for us down here and send all the special help you can to all of us who need it. I love you, Mom. Love, Lori

Eulogy for Mom - Funeral Service - 11-01-12 St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Before I begin, I'd like you to know that our Mom chose the songs for this service as well as the reading of "The Lord is My Shepard." Thank you so much for attending her funeral. It means a lot to us, but most important to her. Our Mom, Marge Menditto, must be looking down at all of us and thinking, "I wish that they all knew how happy I am to be here in Heaven with my favorite people." Marge is finally reunited with her friends and loving family: her father, Michael; her mother, Josephine; her sister,Emma; her brother, Ernie; her brother,Bob; our Dad,Joe; and recently, her grandson,Tony. We can imagine her healed, socializing, and making new friends as she always did here. Marge was the second child born to Josephine and Michael Holzmann. She was born and raised in New Britain. She always spoke fondly of growing up in her very loving family and havings so many great times, such as attending picnics and concerts in New Britain's beautiful parks. She grew up going to dances, having lots of friends, singing in her church choir, and teaching Sunday School. At one of the dances she met our Dad, Joe. She was only 14. He was 16 and they dated 4 years before getting engaged. Two weeks later, our Dad was off to Fort Deven's for basic training. So,they wrote love letters back and forth for the next 3 years, dreaming of their future life together. They married on September 15, 1945. We,her children, knew her as a very religious person, reading her bible everyday and outwardly expressing her love for her God,as she made sure to say "God bless you" to almost everyone that she met. Although she was Lutheran, she respected all religions and made it a point to be very open-minded. In recent years, she even prayed the rosary daily along with Mother Mary Angelica of the Eternal Word Television Network, until one year ago today when her health sharpy decined. She loved her church with all her heart and was very sad when she was not able to attend services anymore.Subsequently, the church came to her in whatever convalescent home that she was in. We are all so grateful for that. Marge loved singing in the choir and told us that she joined it when she was 14 years old. Boy, 14 was a busy year for her-meeting our Dad and all!! At Brittany Farms, our Mom would attend a weekly church service, where we were told she sang the loudest and seemed to enjoy every minute of it! Before a year ago,she would scoot herself around in her wheelchair and check in on all of the residents on her floor everyday, chatting away and occasionally enjoying a game of BINGO. We will always remember our Mom as a very beautiful woman, hair and nails always perfect, very well-dressed,and,ofcourse,accessorized! She loved wearing bright colors and floral patterns. She inherited her beautiful complexion from her Mom, our Nanny Holzmann, whom she was extremely devoted to. Our Mom loved butterflies, the lily of the valley flower, needlepoint,Frank Sinatra,Paul Neuman,Jerry Vale, writing favorite quotes and writing just about everything else! Until a year ago,she was journal writing daily and devouring large print novels. Marge loved baking. We'll remember her Jewish coffee cake, banana cream, butterscotch, and lemom merinque pies. She loved us, all of us. Most of all, we loved her, all of her. Love ALWAYS & FOREVER, Diane, Lori, Tom

We are thinking of you all at this difficult time. My memories of Mrs. Menditto is that she was always dressed to the nines! Hair - makeup - clothes. She always had a kind word for me and felt that Lori & my friendship was a blessing to her also!

Diane, Tom, and Lori - Marge will always hold a special place in my heart. For as early as I can remember she was always so kind to me. As a child she would take me and Lori to downtown NB and it was so much fun. As I grew older, she never failed to make me feel good with a compliment that may have been minor but always meant so much. She was genuinely happy to attend our family gatherings and it wouldnt have been the same without her. Not to mention she would always bring the best desserts! She was special to me and always will be thought of fondly. Love Rosey and Ray
