Obituary of Vivian Sarisley

Vivian (Allen) Sarisley, 90, of Enfield for the past 20 years and formerly of New Britain died Monday September 20, 2010 at her residence. She was the widow of Edward F. Sarisley who died September 19, 2008. Born in Hartford, January 27, 1920, she was the daughter of the late David and Hattie (Nolan) Allen. She had been an avid artist, pianist, dance teacher and singer. She painted and exhibited throughout her life. Her most recent shows were held this past year at Blue Bird Estates in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts and a one woman exhibition held at the Enfield Senior Center in celebration of her 90th birthday. She worked at the New Britain Bank and Trust and was the Art Director at the New Britain Senior Center for many years. Mrs. Sarisley will be most remembered for being a truly caring, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Nancy Costanzo of Hampden, MA., James Boughamer of New Britain, Edward Sarisley, Jr. of Andover and Brian Sarisley of Somers, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Church, Main St., New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Friends may call at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq., New Britain on Friday morning from 9:00 - 10:00 AM.
