Obituary of Francis R. Newfield

Francis R Newfield, 58, of New Britain, died Tuesday at home after a long illness. Born in New Britain, the son of the late Francis A. and Virginia (Albanese) Newfield, he was a lifelong resident. A graduate of New Britain High School, he spent two years in the U.S. Army on active duty and thirty years in the U.S Air Force Reserves. He was also employed at the Big Y in Plainville for twenty years. Frank is survived by his sister Dale and her husband Daniel Sobieraj; his niece Kelly and her husband Timothy Suprenant; his grandniece Claire Hope; and his aunt Barbara Garrison all of New Britain. He is also survived by his lifelong friend Fred and his wife Mary Burgos of Wolcott and good friend Dennis Kern of Kensington; as well as his military family and Big Y family that he felt so close to. Funeral services will be held Friday 10:00 A.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be today (Thursday) from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
