Obituary of Josephine Marieni

Josephine (Marzi) Marieni, 96, of New Britain, died Monday after a long illness at the Walnut Hill Health Care. She was the widow of Joseph Marieni, who died November 6, 2007. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Patsy and Elza (Rinaldini) Marzi, she was a lifelong resident. Early in her career, she worked for the Prentice Corporation and later joined her husband as the owners and operators of the Community Grocery Store in New Britain. Josephine loved children and she was loved by all. Mrs. Marieni is survived by many nieces and nephews including Carl Marieni, Richard Marieni and Nancy Marieni, all of New Britain. She was predeceased by two brothers Pat Marzi and John Marzi; a sister May Marzi; two sisters in law Audrey Marzi and Olga Marieni; and a brother in law Mario Marieni. Funeral services will be held Friday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church 195 So. Main St. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the VNA and Hospice and the Walnut Hill Health Care for their special care of Josephine.
