Obituary of Stanley J. Cop

Stanley J. Cop, Sr., 92, of Kensington, died Thursday (Mar. 3, 2016) at the Summit of Plantsville. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (DeFrancesco) Cop. Stanley was born in New Britain and was a longtime resident of Kensington. He retired from Eastern Tool and Die and was a member of the New Britain Evening Lions and the Berlin Senior Center. Mr. Cop is survived by his children Anthony, and his wife Melissa Cop of Southington; Stanley, and his wife Deirdre Cop of Southington; and Betty Ann and her husband Edward Ziegler of New Britain; his grandchildren, Jonathan and his wife Merrick Cop, Stephen Cop, Gregory Cop, Andrew Cop, Maureen Cop and Kevin Cop; and several nieces and nephews. A grandson, Geoffrey Ziegler, predeceased him. Funeral services will be held Tuesday (Mar. 8, 2016) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 195 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq., New Britain.
