Donald "Tex" Anderson, 76, of New Britain, died Saturday (June 16, 2012) at home. Born in New Britain, he graduated from New Britain High School and served his country with two tours in U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War Era. For many years he was the Manager of the Blue Plate Restaurant in Plainville. He was a member of the New Britain Lodge No. 957 and enjoyed spending time with the "Friday Group" at the Newington Veteran's Hospital. He was the widower of Lorraine (Kazzy) Anderson, who died May 24, 2011. Tex is survived by his children Doreen Anderson Blake and her husband Samuel Blake, Darren Anderson and his wife Kathy McCarthy Anderson, Denise Anderson Basque and her husband David Basque; his grandchildren Rachell Triplett Malpica and her husband Anthony Malpica, Rhondell Triplett and her fiancé Rob Miller, Rion Triplett and his wife LeeAnne Blake, David Basque, Jr. and his fiancé Bobbi Lee Wawruck, Justin Blake, Simon Blake, Taylor Anderson, Justin Betters, Jordan Anderson, and Kelsie Anderson, his great grandchildren Zailia Malpica, Cheyenne Prebble, Jourien Malpica and Joseph Triplett ; his sister Christine Anderson LaValle. He was predeceased by a grandson Daimen Triplett. Funeral services will be held Thursday 8:30 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church Broad St. New Britain. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vietnam Wall c/o Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Fund 2600 Virginia Avenue NW Ste 104 Washington, DC 20037 or to the Connecticut Humane Society 701 Russell Road Newington, CT 06111.
