Obituary of Charlotte Dziekan

Charlotte Brown Hapgood Dziekan, the daughter of the late Fredrick and Helen Griffin Brown died Thursday at her home. Born in Somerville, MA, she lived in New Hampshire as a young child, until 1957 when she moved to New Britain, CT. She worked many years at Emhart and was an active, faithful member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. She was the widow of Eugene (Zeke) Dziekan. Charlotte is survived by two sons Wayne Hapgood and his wife Lesley Fearnley of Middletown, CT, Bryan Hapgood and his companion Pamela Randall of North Port, FL, a stepson Jamie Bernier and his wife Lori of Tolland, CT, her grandchildren No-El Hapgood of AZ, Jennifer Hapgood of PA, Jason Hapgood and his wife Dawn of CT, Ryan Bernier of Chicago, Nicole Flaherty and her husband Patrick of MA and Jeffrey Bernier of VT; four great grandchildren three girls and one boy; four sisters Eleanor Dunklee, Ethel Woodard, Virginia Avery, and Anna Daily her husband Eugene all of NH, two Brothers Keith Brown with his wife Judy of NH, John Brown and his wife Norma of CA and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter Ellen Kalinoski and four brothers. Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 13, 11:00 A.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial in Fairview Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark's Church 147 West Main St. New Britain, CT 06051 or to a charity of the donor's choice. The family wishes to thank the VNA and aides, especially Cathy Maurer, Sandy, and Dr. Fallon. A special thanks to "The Chauffeur" who has been so good to her.
