John J. Ott, 92, of New Britain, died, Friday January 13, 2012, at the Jerome Home in New Britain. He was predeceased by his wife Mary (Walsh) Ott, who died in April 2003. Born in New Britain, the son of the of the late John and Mary (Walsh) Ott, he lived his entire life in New Britain. A World War II U.S. Navy Veteran, he worked many years at the Eyelet Specialty Co. in Wallingford. Prior to that, he worked at Landers, Frary & Clark; Kalart in Plainville and for over 30 years he was a part time voting machine mechanic.
John was an avid Red Sox fan and delighted in their 2004 and 2007 World Series Victories. He also enjoyed watching the UCONN Women's Basketball team and time with Sheila, the canine visitor at Jerome Home.
Mr. Ott is survived by his daughter Patricia and her husband Michael Bielonko of Berlin; his son Daniel Ott of Stamford; two grandchildren Rich Bielonko and Amanda Bielonko and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church 1755 Stanley St. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. The family would like to thank the staff of Jerome Home for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jerome Home 975 Corbin Ave. New Britain, CT 06052.
