Mrs. Rita (Coffey) Walsh, 96, of New Britain, widow of John F. Walsh, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at the Jerome Home in New Britain.
Mrs. Walsh was born in Hartford on March 28, 1917 to the late James A. and Demerise (Allard) Coffey. After graduation from New Britain High School, she worked in various clerical jobs, most notably at the Veterans' Administration Hospital in Newington, as secretary to the Assistant Director of the Veterans' Administration Hospital in West Haven, and at the Social Security Administration Office in New Britain, from which she retired. Our Aunt Rita will be fondly remembered for her eternally kind, compassionate, and generous nature, as well as her needlecraft, baking, and piano-playing skills.
