Obituary of Carmela Zareski

Carmela (Messina) Zareski, 90, of New Britain died Friday (Mar. 15, 2013) at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Born in Italy, the daughter of the late Giuseppi and Concetta (Amodio) Messina, she lived in Plantsville and mostly in New Britain. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Zareski. During her career she worked many years at Emhart, retiring in 1985, was a member of St. Ann's Church and the Ladies Guild of the Church. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren Mrs. Zareski is survived by her daughter Diane and her husband Allen Piper of Hebron; her son Joseph and his wife Dianne Zareski of Marlborough; four grand children, Lindsay and her husband Steve Mastroianni, Jodi, Lisa and Dana Zareski; two great grandchildren Fiona and Landon Mastroianni and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Frances Cannata . Funeral services will be held Monday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Church, North St. New Britain. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Garden Mausoleum. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
