Catherine L. "Cookie" ( Lazzaro) Robertson, 79, of New Britain, died Saturday at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, surrounded by her family. Born in New Britain, January 19, 1934, the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Arena) Lazzaro, she was a lifelong resident. During her career, she worked for the City of New Britain Board of Education in charge of the Accounts Payable Department. She was a member of St Ann's Church, an avid bowler, she enjoyed crocheting and was a dotting grandmother. Cookie is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Howard Robertson, two daughters Teresa Robertson and her husband Richard Fakelmann of Gold Hill, Colorado, Lisa Humble and her husband Jonathan of West Hartford; a son Steven Robertson of Coventry; two granddaughters Elizabeth and Carolynn Humble; a brother Anthony Lazzaro and his wife Mary of New Britain, a sister Mary Burke and her husband Tom of Salem and thirty nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters and a brother Betty Garieri, Joseph Lazzaro, Jr. and Evelinia Betterini. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 8:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 A.M. at St. Ann's Church, North St. New Britain. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Pl. Memphis, TN 38105.
