Francesca (Marcello) Lachnicki, 78, of New Britain passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday. She was surrounded by family and friends. Francesca was born on April 9, 1934 in the town of Solarino, Italy, daughter to Ruffaele and Sebastiana Gibilisco. After moving to America in 1954 with her mother and sister, Francesca settled in Hartford where she began her life as a seamstress. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and fashion. Francesca is survived by her loving husband, Walter Lachnicki, as well as her children Adelina Listro of Coventry and Joe Marcello of Lake Worth, FL; two sisters, Marianna Barbagallo and Helen Gibilisco; four grandchildren, Daniella Listro, David Listro, Joey Listro and Dominic Marcello.
Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Mass Wednesday (Jan.9,2013) at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter Church 98 Franklin Square New Britain. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Francesca can be made to the Susan G.
