Kevin Joseph Koch, 47, of New Britain, died unexpectedly and was taken from us way too soon, while enjoying family and friends, on December 31, 2012. Born on June 13, 1965 in New Britain, CT, he was a lifelong resident, graduating from E.C. Goodwin Technical School, where he excelled in plumbing. He was employed at Reflexite Corp of Avon for the past 20 years and also had his own company, K and K Plumbing Business on the side, for 29 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Church, the St. Peter's Society, he served as Lieutenant of the New Britain Cert Team and Sargent of Arms of the New Britain Quartette Club and was an Eagle Scout. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, who took part in many charity rides and enjoyed his cat "Princess".
Kevin is survived by his high school sweetheart and lifelong partner, Kathleen Leiner, a son Shaun Koch, his parents Franz and Walentyna Koch, his mother-in-law Nancy Cleveland, two sisters Debbie Koch all of New Britain, Korrie and her husband Scott Sprong of Newington and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tom and Ingrid Leiner of Milford, and everyone he touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Square New Britain. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday Jan. 5, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Church New Britain. Burial will be private. Members of the St. Peter's Society will meet at 6:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home for a prayer service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter Church 98 Franklin Square New Britain, CT 06051, or to the American Lung Association 45 Ash St. East Hartford, CT 061087-3272 .
