Obituary of Gertrude M. Donnelly

Gertrude Mary Donnelly, 86, 0f New Britain, passed away peacefully Friday Dec . 7, 2012 at the Hospital of Central CT with her sister at her side. The daughter of Mary Quinn Donnelly and Daniel Donnelly, she was a lifelong New Britain resident and lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and member of the rosary guild. She retired from Central CT State College after 35 years of service in the cashiers office. She is survived by her devoted sister Ann Donnelly, her nephew James Donnelly and his wife Lois, her great niece Kristin Foster and her husband Trevor Foster, her great nephew Scott Donnelly and his significant other Amy Gagnon, her new great great nephew Cooper Donnelly and several cousins. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 8:30 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church, burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Tuesday (today) from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Church 195 So. Main St. New Briatin, CT 06051. The family would like to thank Dr. Catherine Holmes, Dr. Robert Napolitano and their staffs, as well as the staff of N-4 at the hospital for their caring support over the years.
